In early 2025, the iGaming post-ICE Euphoria was palpable for iGP, a prominent player in the sector. Under my leadership, the company appeared poised for growth, riding the wave of industry enthusiasm after the major event. Yet, just a day after the excitement, reality struck in a different form as I found myself in a Barcelona police station, a victim of theft.
This incident, though minor in comparison to broader life challenges, spurred a deep reflection on the nature of leadership. The stolen items—a laptop, a phone, some money—were replaceable. However, the loss of personal mementos with sentimental value highlighted the deeper emotional toll that such violations can take, overshadowing even the most tangible setbacks.
In leadership, particularly within the dynamic iGaming industry, one constantly juggles the highs and lows. There’s the relentless cycle of strategic planning, continuous professional development, and maintaining vital connections with clients and suppliers. The task of nurturing personal relationships with team members adds another layer of complexity. Amidst these challenges, the question often arises: Is the relentless pursuit of success justified by the personal sacrifices it demands?
Today’s portrayal of a CEO often leans towards a LinkedIn-friendly image—approachable, open, and fostering a familial work environment. Yet, the reality for many in such positions is starkly different. The title of CEO can evoke distinct reactions, altering the dynamics in any room. Having stepped into this role, I observed a noticeable change in my interactions with colleagues, highlighting an unspoken divide that exists despite efforts to bridge it.
This divide can lead to a feeling of isolation, a common sentiment among leaders. The responsibility of making critical decisions—whether it’s reallocating resources, revising policies, or making personnel changes—carries immense weight. Maintaining a professional demeanor, always accessible for dialogue and never displaying weakness, becomes an integral part of the job. Suppressing stress and negative emotions is crucial to prevent them from spilling into other facets of life.
While the pressures of leadership can indeed be daunting, they also offer a unique opportunity to inspire and innovate. As CEO, I’ve achieved feats I once deemed impossible, driven by an enduring desire to create and challenge boundaries. This sense of fulfillment is unparalleled, fueling my focus and dedication despite the inherent challenges and loneliness of the role. My company, akin to a cherished child, evokes immense pride with every milestone reached.
The road to the C-suite, particularly within iGaming, is rarely straightforward or easy. It demands years of dedicated work, perseverance, and significant personal sacrifices. My journey began at the entry-level, gaining diverse experiences across various roles within the industry. This hands-on background proved invaluable as I climbed the corporate ladder.
For instance, my experience with Bragg Gaming, previously known as Oryx Gaming, transformed a nimble team into a publicly listed company with over 200 employees. This journey not only established my reputation within the industry but also contributed to the company’s continued growth, now boasting over 500 staff members.

The sense of isolation stems not from a lack of company but from the unique burdens of responsibility and personal sacrifices that accompany such roles.
